Developing and expanding our portfolio

Our focus is on the exploration and development of our assets across our cobalt, lithium and graphite projects in North America and South Korea. We continue to assess additional land opportunities in North America.

Other Cobalt Projects in Ontario

BMR has identified several additional cobalt-prospective targets in Ontario including: the Elk Lake properties, the Otter project, Shining Tree project, White Lake project, White Reserve property and Wilder property. The prospects are easily accessible via existing infrastructure and are at various stages of exploration.

Elk Lake

The Elk Lake properties comprise a large portion of the historic Elk Lake silver mining district in the heart of the Ontario Cobalt Belt. BMR's joint ventured and staked claims at the Elk Lake cover 147.8 km2

Historically this area was only explored for silver, and cobalt was used as a pathfinder element. BMR is capitalizing on the opportunity to explore the historically high-grade, mineral rich area for combined silver-cobalt deposits. Grab sampling on the property conducted in 2016 revealed high levels of cobalt, and in some cases silver and nickel ranging from 1.4% Co to 4.7% and 1.3% Ni to 7.4%.

The Gowganda tailings deposit is located in the center of our exploration and mining focus area and is a favourable location for a central processing plant for future cobalt mines in the district.

BMR acquired the Gowganda brownfield site in February 2018. The Gowganda project, located west of Sudbury, was a historic silver mining camp that has existing tailings, road access and nearby power infrastructure.

We are in early stage exploration of Gowganda and are conducting sonic drilling of the tailings which have not been tested for cobalt.

The property is located west of Sudbury and ongoing staking in the area has led to verification sampling planned for 2018.

Shining Tree

Shining Tree is located in the Leonard and Tyrrell Townships of eastern Ontario and our prospect is comprised of 11 unpatented mining claims covering 24.6 km2

The project is undergoing early stage exploration including ground geophysics and mapping to identify drill targets.

White Lake

We are beginning our exploration efforts of the White Lake project. The project is located south west of McAra and is made up of 41 optioned and staked claims covering 86.2 km2. Our initial grab sampling indicates the exploration potential at the White Lake prospect is very good because of high grades of fresh cobalite and niccolite ranging from 0.5% to 6.2% Co and 0.1% to 0.8% Ni.

White Reserve

The property is located northeast of Sudbury, near the town of Gowganda, Ontario, and has undergone considerable localized exploration for silver. There are many small historical workings at the White Reserve site. Our 54 optioned and staked claims in the area cover 134.2 km2

Verification sampling for the White Reserve project returned assays of up to 2.44% Co.

The property is located immediately northeast of McAra and has undergone considerable localized exploration for silver.

The two main prospects in the project area are the Wilder and the Kell Mine. There are many historical references to high-grade cobalt in the claim block, although the focus of past activities from the early 1990's has been on silver mining and exploration. BMR has undertaken prospect sampling at the Wilder and Kell mines.
